About Camp

A local favorite summer camp prides itself on creating a fun and supportive environment dedicated to children’s growth. While at camp, students learn care and safety of horses, nutrition, equine anatomy, and horsemanship training. Campers also enjoy a wide variety of daily farm activities, horse themed crafts, and informative games. We also enjoy a nature walk during the week to learn about the natural wildlife settings of their home. At the end of the week, students share their skills with their friends and family at the “Rodeo Showdeo”. Most of our campers are return clients and take up a large chunk of our attendance! Make sure to secure your spot today - you won’t regret it!

Shannen Cullinan Profile Pic
Shannen Cullinan

I was born and raised in Southern California and have over 19 years of extensive experience with horses. I offer a supportive and safe space for beginners to grow into wonderful riders, most moving onto owning their own horses. Let me spark your equine passion within!

Kalysta Primeau Profile Pic
Kalysta Primeau

Kalysta fell in love with Blue and Banner (as lesson horses) here at Blue Banner Stables (formerly know as California stables) and then adopted them into her family. Her passion grew more as she got older and wanted to stay invested in horses and took on her teaching role with Painted Star Equestrian. She loves seeing her student's confidence around horses grow and seeing them fall in love with their lesson horses as she did when she was younger. Kalysta is knowledgable, patient, and kind and brings out the best in our students, we are lucky to have her.

McKenzie Primeau Profile Pic
McKenzie Primeau

Mackenzie has been riding since she was 11 years old. She always loved horses but it wasn't until she started horseback riding with her cousin Kalysta and riding Blue where she developed a real aspiration for riding. Her favorite thing about teaching is watching each student improve as a rider and develop a love for horses with their friends they make at Painted Star Equestrian just like she did with her cousin. MacKenzie is outgoing, sweet, and a well-skilled instructor. We are lucky to have her on our team.
